The New York State Power Authority along with the Canal Corporation will be conducting a public information meeting in Albion at the Hoag Library on Monday February 25 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.  This is to discuss future plantings along the canal where the trees have been removed in Ridgeway, Medina and Albion.  They will be holding the same meeting in Brockport on Tuesday.

The Village of Medina is currently seeking applicants for the position of Zoning Board alternate.  There are currently two positions available.  If interested please contact Marty Busch at or 585-798-0770.

Fall Leaf and Brush Pick Up
Please take notice: The Village of Medina will begin Leaf and Brush pick up starting November 15, 2018. Do not rake leaves into any village street. Doing so could cause street flooding and sewer problems.

It is prohibited by law to place leaves (considered debris) or snow in the road or town right of way. (Vehicle and Traffic Law 1219 and 1220 sub A).

Section 1219A – Putting glass or other injurious substance on highway is prohibited. No person shall throw or deposit upon any highway any glass bottle, glass, nails, tacks, wire, cans, SNOW or any other substance likely to injure any person, animal, or vehicle upon such highway.

Section 1220A – Throwing refuse on highways and adjacent lands is prohibited. No person shall throw, dump, deposit or place or cause to be thrown, dumped, deposited or placed upon any highway, or with the limits of the right of such highway, or upon private lands adjacent thereto, any refuse, trash, garbage, rubbish, litter or any nauseous or offensive matter.

Winter Parking Ban Notification Starts November 15!!!
The parking of vehicles is hereby prohibited on all highways within the Village of Medina and in all public parking lots and areas in the Village of Medina between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. beginning November 15 and ending March 15 of each year, provided that, in the “business districts,” as hereinafter defined, the parking of vehicles on all highways therein between such hours, during such period of each year, for a period not exceeding one hour shall be lawful, and further provided that the parking of their vehicles in the so-called Senior Citizen Center parking lot by Village officers and/or employees actually engaged in their official duties or in Village employment between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. during the proscribed period above-mentioned shall be unlawful if such vehicle shall display a Village employee permit issued for such purpose by the Board of Trustees. The business districts as used in this chapter shall be as set forth in Schedule XVI (§ 236-54).
